INTRODUCTION
Stradbally GAA club was formed in October1886.  The Gaelic Athletic Association was formed in Thurles in 1884 with a branch in Waterford City being formed in 1885 and ourselves in 1886.  So it can be said we were there almost from the start.  Believe or not football or hurling were not the main sports of the GAA at the start but Athletics.  A football team was formed in Stradbally in November 1886 with an enrollment of 40 players.

We have evolved a long way since then.  We now have Senior Football, Senior Hurling, Junior Football and Junior Hurling, Under-21 football and Under-21 hurling, Minor football and hurling teams.  We have underage teams at both codes at under-12, under-14 and under-16 for boys and under-12 and under-14 football teams for the girls.  Scor is also triving, not to mention our Social Centre with bar and dancing facilities.
